Fuzz Face - Mini

Rather sweet mini version of the fuzzy classic. Small but perfectly formed, this kit fits easily into a 1590A enclosure, with all the snarl and bite you'd expect. Available in both standard and Mayer configuration, which gives a higher output level. We'll supply a 1K Reverse Log pot in the standard config, which gives a much better sweep than the original 1K Linear. You have a couple of options for the transistors: • AC128/AC125 (PNP Germanium) • BC108 (NPN Silicon) The warm and cozy PNP version must be wired positive-ground and used with an isolated power supply - it won't play nice on a daisy chain. The cheaper silicon option gives a slightly harder fuzz - think along the lines of Dark Side of the Moon solos. - a classic sound in its own right. Pots are 20mm apart, quite close to the edge of the enclosure and have round shafts - take that into consideration when choosing knobs. The kit is supplied with 9mm vertical-mount pots which have round shafts, so you'll need set-screw fitting knobs. If you want the PCB without parts there's a link for that at the bottom of the page. Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED. 1590A Enclosure (pre-drilled) is available as an option with full kits, and will not take a battery. Knobs are not included. Builds are only available with full kits including enclosures. Please choose appropriate knobs.
