From the vendor

bajaman's verified and working project traced from a reissue B K Butler Tube Driver. A TL072 input buffer and gain stage (Tube Drive) feed a 12AX7 with both halves cascaded, then a passive Hi/Lo tone stack and output level, powered from a 12VAC transformer with split rails. It adds a Bias pot on the tube cathodes that shifts the grid voltages and changes the character of the clipping.

The Bias mod (10K linear pot on the shared cathode) lets you alter the voltages seen on the tube's grid, which changes the character of the clipping.
