This build is a silicon take on the classic germanium-based Tonebender Mk2, with minimal tweaks to the circuit to accommodate silicon. The stripboard layout is very similar to the original germanium layout and can be built on our repro Mk2 board (P-PC-BEND-MKII-BRN). It will fit well in our pre-drilled 1590BB (P-H91590BBBK-PD2). BC109B is recommended and has been tested thoroughly, though almost all silicon transistor types will work and bias well if you would like to experiment. The exception is extremely low beta types, though they can be accommodated by decreasing the value of the resistor connected between Q1 base and 9V (R2 in the schematic)
