From the vendor

A high-gain overdrive that gets its gain and clipping from cascaded MOSFET stages instead of diodes: two BS170 boost stages sandwich a CD4007 logic chip wired as further cascaded inverter gain stages, five gain stages in all. The CD4007 section is essentially Gez's late-1990s Nut Cruncher. A Contour control sits in the feedback path and the output passes through a two-pole RC filter to the Volume pot.
