The author's take on the Fuzz Face: a silicon two-stage feedback fuzz whose first stage is a piggybacked (Darlington-style) pair with a 100K trimmer to set its gain, a Sag pot that limits the voltage on the clipping transistor, and BAT46 diodes after the output with a Compression pot that sets their clipping threshold. It ranges from light overdrive to spitting fuzz depending on the guitar volume and Sag setting.

The 10n capacitor across the 4K7 collector resistor is optional and rolls off extra highs. Adjust the 100K trimmer so Q1 has a gain of about 25.
