Frequency tripling crossover distortion. Say WHHAAAAAAATTTT!!?!?!???? It's a slightly complicated business, but basically this clever box creates distortion on the 'wrong' bits of your waveform. Normally distortion is caused by clipping the peaks and troughs of your wave, but this creates it in the slope instead. Why would you want to do that? Good question. To be honest it sounds ghastly on its own, but stack it with other distortions or fuzzes and oh my.... What you get is sound where there previously wasn't any, where your speaker cone would previously have been waiting for the next hit, now it takes an unexpected thud. The result is a new element to the mix - a real stand-out punch that makes your tone hard to ignore. So why use it? Click it on for accented riffs and flourishes, or to cut your solo straight through the mix. But don't stop there. Use it as a sonic-creation tool, hammering out previously unheard frequencies with your modulation effects. With some creative thinking and experimentation the possibilities are endless. The kit is supplied with vertical-mount pots which have round shafts, so you'll need set-screw fitting knobs. If you want the PCB without parts there's a link for that at the bottom of the page. Full kit: As above, plus footswitch and appropriate daughterboard/components for your selected bypass type (see Downloads section for details of those), jack sockets, DC socket, battery snap, hook-up wire, LED. Enclosure (pre-drilled) is available as an option with full kits, and can take a battery if desired with footswitch positioned 22mm higher, closer to the controls. Knobs are not included.
