John Hollis's simplified Uni-Vibe: the four phase-shift stages are op-amp all-pass filters with the Uni-Vibe's mismatched capacitors, driven by LED/LDR opto-couplers from an op-amp triangle LFO instead of a lamp. The post recommends it to less experienced builders as far easier to build and tune than a real Uni-Vibe, with a somewhat different tone.
The opto-couplers are a 3mm low-current LED and an LDR sealed together in heat shrink.
