An amp-like overdrive with cascaded gain stages: two 2N7000 MOSFET stages (each with a 9V zener from drain to gate) followed by two J201 JFET stages, with a Baxandall-style bass and treble tone stack between the JFETs. The post notes that the higher 10k source resistor on the J201 brightens it compared with the usual Tubes-to-JFETs designs, and that the Baxandall stack is a plus over a simple treble cut.
The post suggests a mod: an option to run only the MOSFET section or only the JFET section for lower-gain tones. The drawing notes that C1 was moved after C24 for better RF rejection.
