From the vendor

An optical compressor/sustainer: a VTL5C6 vactrol in the feedback loop of an NE5532 stage, driven by a rectified side chain, sets the gain. Grit blends a diode-clipped (germanium, LED and silicon diodes) version of the compressed signal with a clean one, Blend mixes the dry signal against the compressed/clipped signal, and Treble is a simple treble cut. Runs on internal +9V and +15V rails from an 18V supply.
