The Roland/Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble factory schematic (ET-10D board), shown for reference: a mains-powered MN3002 bucket-brigade chorus and vibrato with a two-transistor preamp, an op-amp LFO and a peak-level LED meter. The post notes its low input impedance (it was designed for keyboards), its mains power and its size make it awkward on a guitar board, and recommends building the later Boss CE-2 instead.

The drawing's own note: with a uPC1458 for IC-4, R80 must be 120K and R81 150K; with a CA1458G, R80 may be 120K or 180K and R81 160K or 220K.

  • This is a low-resolution scan of a dense factory schematic; several designators (the R0x mic-amp parts, R81/R82 at the output, R90 at Q13, the second D13/D14 pair in the power supply) are hard to read.
  • C02 (mic amp input coupling) has no readable value.
  • Q11, Q12 and Q13 are JFET switches whose type is not given in the transistor table.
  • Transformer, fuses F1/F2 (0.5A) and the power switch are part of the mains supply and left out.
