A low-gain two-transistor (2N5089) overdrive/boost designed by Soulsonic (MC, 2009) after Bjorn Juhl sent him a BJFe Honey Bee, as a DIY work-alike of its sound. R8 adds positive feedback to raise the first stage's gain, R9 and C4 add negative feedback that smooths the highs, and a 1N4001 plus 1N4148 diode combination clips after the output. The single Timbre control sets both the low end and the drive, with minimum drive at noon, combining the Honey Bee's Gain and Nature controls; the post calls it a subtle enhancer that suits stacking.
