Joe Gagan's wild, highly interactive fuzz: a buffer stage, a germanium 2N2614 treble booster, then a Fuzz Face-style 2N3906/2N2614 pair, with a germanium diode 'ripper' feedback path and an expression loop. It gates, octaves, oscillates and stutters; the author built it before the Zvex Fuzz Factory schematic was public and likes it as much.

Q2 and Q4 can be any non-leaky PNP germanium (2SB172, AC128); suggested gains Q2 90-100, Q4 125-175. Q3 any medium-gain PNP silicon. Biasing, collector to ground: Q2 -6.8 to -7.1V; Q4 -4.5 to -5.3V with S4 closed, -1V with S4 open. Use a Switchcraft 12A jack for the expression loop return so the loop is closed when unused. S1 bypass, S2 treble boost bypass, S3 cutboost, S4 rip bias.
