A Fuzz Face variant with a 'Fuel' pregain and tone control, a panel bias pot, and an automotive voltmeter on the front panel that reads Q2's collector voltage in test mode through a 2N3906 meter driver.
Set the bias with the test switch off: turn the 5K bias pot to minimum, then set the 10K trim for -4.2V on Q2's collector. Use a high-gain germanium transistor for Q2.
