An overdrive and distortion built around a Fuzz Face core (2N3906 silicon into a 2SB54 germanium transistor), followed by a dual-gang tone control and a 2N3906 recovery stage. An SPDT channel switch brings in a rhythm volume with a high-pass cap. The drawing notes it cleans up with picking dynamics and guitar volume.
Set the bias with the 25K trim to -4.5V for smooth distortion, or -6.0V for full low end on the cleaner settings. Tune the 500K trim to accentuate high end at the full clockwise sweep of the tone pot. The 1u cap across the drive section is optional, for 'plexi' voicing. Try different values for the .001uF high-pass cap on the rhythm volume.
