Gus Smalley's 2003 silicon Tone Bender with tone control, a silicon version of Aron Nelson's Hot Fuzz, shown in the post as a near twin of the Mictester design: four 2N5089s, a 47K feedback resistor, an emitter follower and a tone control, with a Fat switch on the input cap.
R9 can be replaced with a 5K trimmer and tuned to taste. S1 gives the fat tone when on; use a toggle or a pot with a pull switch for a 'pull fat' control.
