The discrete class A input buffer Pete Cornish puts in all his pedals (he is against true bypass) and sells on its own as the LD-1 line driver. It is a single BC549 emitter follower with a bootstrapped bias network for a high input impedance, a 1n cap across the base for RF filtering, a 10M input pulldown and a 51R series output resistor.
