The version of the 'Face the author built: the same stacked-MPF102 stage with a reworked tone control (a 33n cap to ground through a 100KA pot) that he finds works better with MPF102s, switchable diode clipping, and a MAX1044 doubler with a 12V zener. He describes it as a 'cranked Twin' tone, dynamic, keeping its low end and fizzing out at higher gain.
Adjust the 4K7 trimmer for the best tone.
