EMMA's RF-1 distortion, built from the inverters of a CD4069 CMOS chip run as cascaded gain stages, in the spirit of the 'Tube Sound Fuzz'. Its Bias control moves the stages between class B and class A biasing to change the harmonic structure, and a hi boost/hi cut tone stage follows. The author built it and found it more dynamic than a Rat, cleaning up well with the guitar volume.
This project includes a 'Bass/mids' mod that the post says adds a lot of tones and is well worth doing.
