The Odyssey is an optical phaser with a circuit topology that borrows from the legendary Uni-Vibe. The Odyssey uses 2 poles rather than the 4 poles of the Uni-Vibe which gives it a subtler phasing sound (similar to the intensity of a Phase 45 compared to a Phase 90). Some adjustments have been made to the audio path to adapt the notch frequency to the 2-pole circuit using readily-available, low cost LDRs, and to minimize the number of required parts to make for a very easy build. Like the Uni-Vibe, the Odyssey uses a sine-like waveform for its LFO rather than the more commonly-used triangle wave, which creates a very smooth modulation sound. The Odyssey has a Speed and Intensity knob with a wide range of sounds from subtle modulation to extreme warbling. The Odyssey is a medium-current device. It can run on a 9V battery with a moderate battery life, but a 9V power adapter is recommended.
