Vampire Slayer is based on a British boutique tube buffer. Vampire Slayer runs a single dual-triode tube, I recommend 12AT7 but anything from that family will work while providing different characteristics. As a buffer the design is intended to be largely transparent, but it does impart a certain je-ne-sais-quoi to the signal that can be just the right thing for your chain.
Each PCB also includes a “12AX7-LEFT” PCB for mounting the tube socket.
