Particle Accelerator is based on a high-quality active/passive studio tube preamp. It works great for guitar or bass and can be run clean or you can crank the gain and get a little dirt out of it. If you want it to stay clean you can use a lower gain tube like a 12AT7, 12AY7, or 12AU7 based on your taste.
