Black Eye is based on a now-rare boutique high-gain tube distortion, which is my personal favorite pedal in the world. It can deliver everything from light tube crunch to full on face melting distortion. The circuit was designed for use on guitar, but there’s also a very simple mod that can be done to turn it into an excellent bass distortion.
